Procedure description:

Raw mixture is loaded into rotary kiln (diameter = 5m. length = 185m.) by upper sludge feeder. The kiln is moderately tilted to provide non-stop movement of raw material within 4 hours to pass the whole length.

Fuel and air are supplied from furnace end; as a result of burning, hot gases pass to cold end of the kiln towards moving material. Produced clinker is cooled in shearing grate cooler and transported to clinker storage silos.

Automation system requirements:

Automation system gives the process status information (in suitable form for more effective management of the process) to operative and repair personnel of “BCC” JSC.
Parameter overrange is signalized at technologist-operator’s workstation.
All information concerning emergency shutdown and emergency values of technological process is added to protocol.

Solutionandcharacteristicsofautomationsystem:
Automation system is based on SIMATIC S7-300 controller with CPU 315-2DP central processor and ET200M input/output station for data collection from remote sensors.
Upper level appears as technologist-operator’s workstation based on WinCC v 6.0 installed PC. For technological process visualization two multi-screen function supplied monitors are used.
Communication between controller and PC is held via industrial PROFIBUS DP network.
