The Control System of the Ore Mass Flows at Bakyirchik Mineral Resource Plant

Automation object description
Autoclave zinc leaching facility is designated for zinc extraction from concentrate into solution by means of leaching in high pressure autoclaves. Three independent leaching lines are available in the facility, each of them includes: autoclave, self-evaporation tank and conditioning tank. Zinc leaching is organized according two-stage principle. The facility is designed to provide maximum flexibility, thus each autoclave line can operate on the first or on the second stage, or, even can be reserved. In addition, all measuring and discharge lines are equipped with stand-by pumps. Such flexibility provides possibilities for regular shutdown in order to resetting, technical maintenance or repair without breakdown for the whole facility.

The technological process description:
The electro-furnace is a pyrometallurgical set of a closed type which operates under discharge having caisson slag belt and is cooled by furnace hearth. The furnace is round and has three electrodes, canned with metallic covering. In the furnace crown there is a charge hole besides the electrode holes. In the places of electrode input some caissons are set and serve as restraint devices. Water inlets to cool the caissons give the possibility to control water volume and temperature.

Fluorite or fluor-spar(CaF2) is produced at the plant by means of fluorite ore concentration. Fluorite is used in metallurgy as fluxing agent, and to form low-melting slags and when processing sulphuric acid it is used to produce fluor acid. The main part of fluorite concentration is flotation.
